Shiver: Vanishing Hitchhiker revolves over the famous legend. You stop and give a lift for a young woman who then asks you to drop her off in a remote town. Later you realize that she left a teddy bear in the back seat. This toy reminds you of your childhood and a girl you knew in past. Searching the woman, you enter a small town of Gordon Creek. Will you find a mysterious hitchhiker? Does she have any connection to your past?
Although Shiver: Vanishing Hitchhiker seems to be an ordinary game it quickly gains some turns that make you change your initial ideas and thoughts. Finding journal entries that tell you about incidences in a town of Gordon Creek and childish drawings of the town inhabitants at the moment of their deaths, make you wonder, who did it and how to stop it.
Vanishing Hitchhiker creates an eerie atmosphere for the graphics are realistic. While playing the game, you have a feeling that someone is watching you. Besides various sound effects make you believe that you are not alone in that town.
There are many locations out of your reach but when you progress the investigation, many houses open the doors. Each building fits the story and works well for the game.
